“Made a dream for you, living ordinary lives” - Ordinary Lives, Bee Gees

Ordinary buildings is a video built with images of stucco facades in Windsor, Ontario set to the unheard chord progression of the Bee Gees 1989 love song “Ordinary Lives”.
Mirroring the optimism of the song, the facades are an aspirational gesture towards a new beginning for aging structures - though by virtue of their construction with foam and thin concrete veneer they instead signal the desire for something ultimately unattainable. The original details and materials of the structures become evident in some places as the poor materials age or are damaged.
